We celebrated our anniversary in the dells! Even though I have lived in the midwest for most of my life, I had never been there before. I highly recommend it! It is the kitschyest little town, and there is something for everyone to enjoy. This Sinclair station had half a dinosaur sticking out of the front of it!

I’m back! Did you miss me? My poor blog has been left alone for far too long, but I am back to take care of it again. It seems I have let my day job take over my life lately, but the winds of change are a blowin’ and who knows what they will bring. I could recap you on the past few months, but honestly it would not make for a fun read. I have still been plugging away at my jewelry designing, and should have some great new products to post soon. I also spent a great deal of time working on the above embroidery project. I adapted the image from an embroidered table runner my great Grandmother made way back in the day. I scanned it, rearranged the elements and blew it up to fit on the pillow. It was such fun to work on it, but I am so happy to have it all finished now. I promise there will be more posts to follow, and this time I won’t wait 3 months!

Easter Treats

I remember springtime in elementary school. Every year, without fail, someone’s mom would bring a batch of these little cuties in for the class to devour. I never made them myself but I was longing to taste one again so I put together a batch for Easter. They are even messier to make than they are to eat! It is all worth it though.

Today is my Birthday! My Mom got me this fantastic children’s book of Pantone colors. So simple and fun to look at!

Craft Fair Recap

Today’s Craft fair turned out to be a bit of a let down. The weather was not very pleasant, and the location was not in a very bustling part of town. I would estimate that there were about 30 shoppers that showed up, and 75% of them were friends of the vendors. It definitely made me question how widely the event had been publicized by the organization, and considering that I paid to participate and drove an hour from home it was quite a disappointment. I also have not been included in any of the recap photos on their website or Facebook page.

After paying for my booth, gas, and parking for this event I barely broke even. It looked like most of the other vendors had the same problem.

There were some spectacular vendors there, and I did have a few friendly customers, so I am excited that I got to share my work with them. The highlight for m was getting to know my booth neighbors, Sweet Vi’s, a couple from Addison, IL selling handmade soaps. They had a great display and made the whole area smell fantastic. They even gave me one of their soaps, which is exactly what I needed for the deer dish Chris’s uncle gave to me! So thanks again to Sweet Vi’s. You really brightened an otherwise dreary day. I hope to cross paths with you again!
